Sample Hikes
Step into our world. It is made of exquisite desert landscapes, sunny blue skies with clean air, red sandstone, lava fields, slot canyons, and ancient Native American petroglyphs. You experience the epic confluence of the Great Basin, Mojave Desert, and the Colorado Plateau. Each of these massive and diverse geologic zones contributes some of its character to our unique ecosystem. This is hiking in the very heart of nature. Following are a few samples of the types of terrain you might encounter.
Snow Canyon
- Central Park – A variety of hiking surfaces and views with plenty of up and down elevation changes, sand, lava rock trails, sandstone climbs, loose rock, heights, and panoramic views. Moderate hike with a diversity of sights.
- White Mountain – Steep inclines, sand, sandstone, loose rock, moderate elevation changes, panoramic views. Moderate hike with minor petroglyphs.
Other Trails
- Babylon Trail – Sand, sandstone rock, Virgin River views, exquisite free standing arch. Easy hike that takes you to the river.
- Camelback – Sand, lava rock, sandstone, spectacular views. Easy to moderate hike with lots of climbing on sandstone.
- Slots – Diverse hike over sandstone, lots of short inclines and declines, slot canyons and petroglyphs, spectacular views. Moderate hike.
